UKU Event Announcements

This newsletter is intended to provide a simple stream of information about UKU events. At the point of launch, the intention is that this will provide a definitive source of the most important information relating to UKU events: - dates - registration processes - news updates in the weeks preceding an event (e.g. schedule released, etc)

UKU Event TD Positions Available - Apply Now!

Have you ever wanted to be part of the UKU Events Team? Running tournaments on the day and making sure everything runs smoothly?

Here at UKU we are now looking to build a bigger team of TDs who can assist us at some of our larger events (those like Tour and Nationals) and possibly run some of our smaller ones (such as our indoor tournaments). It would be an ad hoc role, where you would only work at the tournaments you’re available for/required and you’d be paid for your time and assistance (dependent on size of role). Obviously, the more tournaments you work for us, the more likely that you’ll be given greater responsibility and the opportunity to TD larger events!

UKU Indoor Rules Update

Recently the UKU Rules of Indoor Ultimate have been updated to reflect the WFDF Rules of Ultimate 2017 rather than the previous version from 2013. As the indoor season 2017-18 will soon be in full swing, please familiarise yourselves with new indoor rules update.

As a reminder, in the UK we use specifically adapted indoor ultimate rules for this fast and furious variation of the sport and there are no major "indoor-specific" changes; these rules are based on the WFDF Rules of Ultimate.

WUCC 2018 Intention to Enter Reminder

This is a reminder to all teams that the deadline to complete the pre-registration form for WUCC 2018 is next Friday, 15th September.

UKU Nationals 2017 - Spirit Results and Final Standings

Thank you to all of the teams who took part in UKU Nationals 2017 at the weekend in Birmingham! It was a great tournament, filled with some competitive ultimate and gifted with great sunshine.

Congratulations to Clapham, Iceni and Black Eagles for taking the top spot in all 3 divisions, as well as to all of the other teams that have qualified for EUCF 2017!

UKU Nationals - Important Information

Physio Treatment & Pre-Existing Injuries

Please remember that physios at our touraments are only there to deal with any injuries incurred during the tournament - they are not there to help with pre-existing injuries or to tape something up for you that you already know needs doing! It is not a free physio service for all who feel like they need a massage so please don't take advantage of a service that is there for those who need it.
