Happy International Women’s Day!

Here at the UKU Women’s Committee we’ve been working hard to create and promote ways to get more women playing. Today we are launching a project designed to do just this, introducing...

The UKU Women's Find A Team initiative!

This is a new initiative by the UKU to match players to women's teams, or to match players with each other to form new club teams. The aim is to promote the development of Women’s Ultimate in the UK and raise awareness of playing opportunities available across the country.

This is a pilot project which will bring together women who are looking for teams to play within their region or elsewhere, at a social, Tour or national level.

How it works: All female players who currently do not have a club team are invited to fill out a form about themselves. All teams looking for players will fill out a separate form.

We will best match women to established teams and/or women with other women to create new teams. Players will be given more than one option, but of course you are not bound to what we send, it is to provide as many opportunities as possible for women to play.

Please fill out the relevant form, more information can be found on there!

We have also set up a Facebook group which will be used for updates. Please feel free to use this space to start conversations and ask questions. If there is enough interest to play in your region but no team or training setup yet, please don’t hesitate to start something! The committee are keen to provide support to women who want to begin and lead teams at any level; from competing in the UKU Tour to weekly meet-ups and games. We are also aiming to provide a Women’s Leadership course in London, keep on the lookout for more information in the near future! If this is successful we will look to repeat elsewhere too!
