EUF Announcement on 2021 EUCS Series

On Sunday 28 February EUF released a statement regarding the 2021 EUCR competitions

We are still in the process of finalising what playing opportunities we can offer teams this year, however we still intend and expect to run a national championship this year to determine the three divisional champions - Women's, Mixed and Open. We are also aware of the need to provide a qualification ranking for WUCC 2022 and possible XEUCF 2021.

Once we have a clearer idea on the Return to Play timeline, we will publish more information on the possible competition format for this year. Currently, we are still awaiting further details on what will be permitted in England for outdoor sport in Step One (29 March) of the roadmap out of lockdown, as well as related guidance for the rest of the UK.

GB teams withdrawing from European Youth Ultimate Championships 2021

In January, the World Flying Disc Federation,(WFDF), announced that their events in 2021 were all being cancelled.  The international calendar 2021 also includes the European Ultimate Federation (EUF) European Youth Ultimate Championships (EYUC):

  • U20s in Malmö in Sweden, 17-24 July;
  • U17s in Hollabrunn in Austria, 7-14 August.

The EUF has said that they will publish their go/no-go decision regarding these events in early April.

With great sadness, we have decided that we will not send Great Britain youth teams to either of the EYUC events in 2021 regardless of whether or not the events go ahead.  The UK Ultimate staff and volunteers involved recognise the complexity of the decision: it's impact on all of the players and the local organisers, and indeed the potential financial implications to some of the teams that were affected by the cancellation of WJUC 2020.  The decision was not made lightly.

Return-to-Play Update - 23rd February

With lockdown we’ve been a little bit quiet, working on things behind the scenes, but following the government’s announcement yesterday we just wanted to reach out to you all to let you know that we’re reviewing the Return to Play situation.

Frizbay. The Ultimate trading site

Do you have too much kit, taking up space in your drawers and never getting worn?

Or, do you want even more? Maybe you're a student, just starting out and in need of a basic jersey or a pair of decent shorts - or maybe you're a bit of a hoarder. Jerseys, shorts, discs, anything! Just give it to me!

Now there's a place to buy and sell used Ultimate kit. And the best part? The money goes to charity. Everybody wins.

Sport and Recreation Alliance Impact of COVID-19 on Grassroots Activity Survey

The last year has been incredibly tough for all sports clubs. Lockdowns, restrictions and social-distancing has seen many temporarily close or a reduction in capacity to deliver and participate.

The Sport and Recreation Alliance are reaching out to clubs across all sports to understand the current picture of grassroots physical activity and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected clubs.

If you are a club committee member, coach or volunteer – please take 15 minutes to complete this survey which will help the Sport and Recreation Alliance to understand what you need and how we can work to support clubs with welcoming back your members.

By gaining an accurate picture of what has happened to your membership, income and ability to operate – we will be able to more accurately support you in our conversations with government and other partners.

Please take part in this survey here.

Thank you to all of the individuals that donated to our Reset the Stall campaign!

We're working on processing everyone's rewards, but for now here is a small thank you to each and every one of you.
