MIXED TOUR 2

19th-20th May 2007 - Report by Tom Howard

Slightly later in the season than planned, Mixed Tour Two (final placings) finally got underway at the UCE pitches in Perry Barr, Birmingham. With the original venue for MT2 having fallen through last minute and no alternative being able to be found at such short notice, the planned dates for the event only two weeks after MT1 in Cardiff had to be scratched from the calendar.

MIXED TOUR 1

14th – 15th April 2007 Report by Tom Howard The UWIC pitches of Llanrumney, Cardiff, were the setting for the first of this year’s Mixed showdowns. Thirty-three teams made the journey to the south of Wales for the event, and were able to enjoy yet another sunny weekend as the abnormal early-Spring conditions continued. If only the weather stays this good for the rest of the year…

Mixed Tour 2 cancelled!

From Hannah Nistri, UKUA Director of Competitions and Mixed Tour 2 TD:

It is with real regret that I have had to cancel MT2 on 28/29 April.

I thought I might have got it all back ontrack but that has not been the case. I found out this morning that the 3rd venue I booked and paid for has again fallen through! With only 1 week left to go I have taken the decision (with the mixed committee) to cancel. We will be trying to fit it in again later in the season. Sorry to all!

Tour Zero - a taste of things to come

Sat Mar 31st - Sun Apr 1st. Report by Tom Howard.

Things are back to normal. After a year off, the Clifton College pitches in Bristol (under the guidance of BPF’s Matt Edwards and Adam Batchelor) hosted the first official UKUA event of the outdoor season, as has traditionally been the case in recent years. Only this time, for once, it was sunny!
