UKU Junior Open Outdoor Nationals & Schools National Championships 2018 - Final Results & Spirit

Thank you to all the players, teachers, parents and volunteers who made Junior Open Outdoor Nationals and the Schools National Championships a huge success last weekend! The University of Leicester Playing Fields were host to 36 teams competing across 3 divisions for the national titles, in a very exciting event.

The first final of the day came in the U14 Division, where AirBadgers 1 (St Peter's School, Exeter) beat AirBadgers 3 to claim the title and another trophy to add to the school's collection.

As the day drew to a close, all gathered to watch the Junior (U20) Division final, where Flux (Twycross House School, Twycross) sought to prevent an AirBadgers clean sweep. However, the AirBadgers pulled through to complete their treble and retain the trophy for another year.

As you will notice from the limited number of recorded responses, a large number of scores had to be removed due to not being valid. Often, this was because the score fell outside of the 'normal' range, but was not accompanied by a comment to indicate that it wasn't submitted accidentally or without correct application of the criteria. Accurate Spirit of the Game scores are essential to supporting teams to continually improve their Spirit in games, so please take the time to familiarise yourselves with the submission rules and ensure all players understand the scoring criteria. If you have any questions on how to submit scores, or how to use the criteria, please speak to a TD.
