Devon Ultimate Sportivate Funding- April 2014

We are pleased to announce that this summer Devon Ultimate will receive £1325 worth of funding from Sportivate; a London 2012 legacy project funded by the National Lottery in partnership with Sport England; to give young people a chance to experience and discover new sports.

Issy Burke from Devon Ultimate writes:

Our Sportivate programme aims to give 14-25 year olds who are not particularly sporty, access to 8 weeks of free coaching for Ultimate Frisbee in Exeter this Summer. We will be targeting local schools, colleges and businesses with young employees and apprentices in the hope that we can entice new players into the club for next season and beyond.

In order to get access and help to apply for the grant, we contacted our local County Sports Partnership Active Devon. As well as guiding us through the grant application process, Active Devon also helped us secure our new permanent pitch license through Exeter City Council Parks and Open Spaces at Flowerpots playing fields, which was used officially for the first time on the 22nd March.

If you would like to know more about the application process, working with your local providers or would like to participate or get involved with the sessions we are running later this year, please contact Issy Burke ( or visit the Devon Ultimate website.
