To commend and celebrate the approach of these teams, a few weeks ago the team Spirit Captains and coaching staff all met up, together with UKU Performance Director Ali Tincknell and WJUC Spirit Director Becky Boulton. It was great to bring everyone back together, and we had some really interesting discussions about what had been important for the teams.
Highlights included:
- building rapport with the other teams - making friends on and off the field
- making and dealing with calls (fouls, picks etc) at training as if it was a game
- knowing the rules of course
- player conditioning - sleep, food, etc - all helps to keep people's minds and emotions in the right place.
