Good Luck to the GB World Games Team

The Great Britain squad kick off their World Games Campaign this week.

The World Games occurs every four years (the 2021 edition was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic), and see’s elite athletes from across the globe compete in 34 unique, multi-disciplinary sports. It is considered the pinnacle for non-Olympic, amateur sports and will feature 3,600 athletes from more than 100 countries.

The 2022 edition marks the 40th anniversary of the Games. The Ultimate competition (Known as "Flying Disc" at the World Games) will see 8 Mixed teams (Australia, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan and United States) compete across a five-day span – July 12-16 – at John Carroll Catholic High School.


Competition Format:

The 8 teams are split into 2 pools of 4, before playing semi finals and a final. GB are in a pool with USA, Germany and Canada).


GB Game Times (UK Time):

GB kick off their campaign with a game vs USA, Wednesday 0:00am. This is followed by a game vs Canada, Wednesday 5:30pm and they conclude their group vs Germany, Thursday 3:30pm.

The time of their final games will depend on results throughout the week.

The tournament is the cumulation of months of practice and preparation, with the first trials taking place back in October 2021, with over 100 players invited to trial. Good luck to the entire squad, we can’t wait to see you all in action!
