UKU Regionals and Nationals update

The confirmed teams for Regionals (previously referred to as Playoffs) can be found below. We have reverted to our previous format of North and South Regionals following the postponement of the National League.

As confirmed in a previous announcement here, Women’s Playoffs will not be running due to a lower number of entries than required to run the division. More information about the Women’s division at Nationals can be found below.  [Reminder - there will be a Women’s Tour event on 12-13 August - more news to follow soon.]

Lists of confirmed teams for the Open and Mixed division of North and South Regionals can be found here: UKU Confirmed Event Entries 2023

If you have not entered Regionals and you are interested in playing, please email events@ukultimate.com. As we have used the entry data to finalise some decisions about venues, this does not guarantee you a space at Regionals, but obviously we want teams to be able to play, so we will aim to fit everyone in.

Please note: we are using the word Playoffs to indicate a single, nationwide qualifier; and Regionals to indicate where there are multiple qualification events where a team has to attend a specific qualifier depending on their home location.

North Regionals

We are in the process of confirming a venue for North Regionals in the north of England as soon as possible.  We have a backup booking at University of Leicester Stoughton Playing fields, but are aiming to put the event further north.  Durham University was not available.  If you have information or contact with a new potential 8-pitch venue please email events@ukultimate.com.

South Regionals

South Regionals will be held at Reading University Sports Park.

Nationals & Bid Allocation

As previously confirmed, UKU Nationals / EUF EUCR-West will take place at Highfields Sports Complex, University of Nottingham on 26-27 August.  Entries will open in due course.

There will be up to 12 teams in each division with the following bid allocation by region:

  • Women’s - UK North and South - 9, Ireland - 3

  • Mixed - UK North - 5, UK South - 6, Ireland - 1

  • Open - UK North - 3, UK South - 5, Ireland - 4

In the Women’s Division, 7 teams from the UK are confirmed for UKU Nationals (Bristol, Horizon, Iceni, LMU, Scram, Spice, SYC). There are still two bids available for UK Women’s teams. If you are interested in taking one of these bids, please contact events@ukultimate.com

Please see this announcement for the EUCF bid allocation.

Division 2 Nationals

The majority of teams entering Regionals in both the Mixed and Open divisions expressed interest in a Division 2 Nationals if they didn’t qualify to the National Championships.  There is no space to add more teams at Highfields Sports Complex, so we are looking into options to run a Division 2 competition on the same weekend (26-27 Aug) in, or near, Nottingham.
