GB World Games Player Applications Are Live

We’re pleased to invite applications from players wishing to represent GB at the World Games 2025. While the countries participating at the World Games 2025 will only be confirmed following the 2024 World Ultimate Championships, we intend to open player applications now in order to ensure that, should GB qualify, the selection process can proceed swiftly.

APPLY HERE. Application Deadline Friday 6th September at 23:59.

GB players competing at the 2024 World Ultimate Championships who wish to apply will be offered a pre-trial place, but must still complete the very short application form to register interest. Players who are not competing at the 2024 World Ultimate Championships but who wish to apply will be asked to provide further information on their application.

The 2025 World Games will take place in Chengdu, China, from 7th-17th August.

Trials

The selection process will comprise 3 phases: application, pre-trials, and main trials. There will be three pre-trial sessions in October in advance of a much smaller main trial in December. The three pre-trials will be held over two weekends in three different regions around the country in order to try to maximise the geographic accessibility of trials.

Players who are unable to participate at any of the pre-trial dates may still apply, but should indicate this clearly when applying.

Scotland: Sun Oct 6th 11:00-15:00 - [Oriam, Edinburgh]

South-East: Sat Oct 12th 13:00-18:00 - [Tudor Park, London]

Midlands: Sun Oct 13th TBC

Players will be allocated to regional sessions on the basis of the location stated in their application. Capacity limits may mean that some players are asked to attend a session other than the one closest to them.

Main trials will be hosted on November 30th and December 1st (Location tbc). Invitations to the main trial will be made as soon as possible after the three pre-trial sessions.

Eligibility for trials

We acknowledge that the transgender policy of WFDF may restrict players’ eligibility. GB trials and training will operate in accordance with the UKU transgender policy, and players are welcome to apply, trial, and if successful, train, in the division (or gender role in the mixed division) that they identify with. However, given the complexities presented by differing policies, we welcome the opportunity to discuss further with any players for whom these policies might restrict eligibility. If you would like to discuss your eligibility please contact gb.committee@ukultimate.com.
